The Symposium Intensive is focused on the education of dance. It is
made up of an incredible staff that is so excited to share their knowledge with thesedancers, teachers, and parents!
Since the Symposium Intensive is a convention only, it allows the dancers to take several classes throughout the weekend. The workshop is designed to keep the focus on the dancers, helping them to grow in their dance education. We want each and every dancer to leave feeling motivated, inspired and encouraged; ready to take the upcoming competition season by storm!

2027 Information & Policies
1. About Symposium Intensives
Symposium Talent Intensives are designed to inspire, educate, and prepare dancers for the upcoming competition season through professional instruction in a positive, encouraging environment.
Our faculty is committed to helping dancers grow in confidence, technique, artistry, and performance while creating an unforgettable convention experience.
2. Workshop Levels
Mini Workshop
Designed for dancers ages 5 & up who are new to conventions or prefer a slower-paced learning environment. The Mini Workshop is a half-day program held on Sunday.
• Mini classes may be combined with the Junior Workshop if attendance does not allow for a separate Mini room.
• Mini dancers are not eligible for scholarships.
Junior • Teen • Senior Workshops
Workshop levels are based on age and ability. Age divisions are guidelines only. Teachers may place dancers in the level that best fits their ability.
3. Registration & Payment
• Early registration discounts apply only to registrations submitted and paid in full by the published deadline
.• Full payment is required to confirm registration.
• Registration fees are non-refundable.
• Personal or studio checks are accepted only until two weeks prior to the event.
• Day-of-event payments must be made by credit card, cashier’s check, money order, or cash.
4. Frequent Student Discount
Dancers attending one Regional Intensive at full tuition may attend a second Regional Intensive during the same season for 50% off, and the third intensive for FREE.
Offer excludes National Finals.
6. Pre-Season Feedback Sessions
Receive professional feedback before competition season begins with a little extra time with a judge to review feedback.
Dancers perform their routine for Symposium’s master teachers and receive:
• Live verbal critiques
• Recorded feedback provided to the studio director
• Individual instruction and suggestions for improvement

• This is a feedback session, not a competition. No scores or awards are given.
7. Saturday Master Classes
(Select Cities Only)
Select cities offer optional Saturday evening master classes for advanced dancers seeking additional training in a professional setting.
Classes move at a fast pace and provide a professional learning environment.
Additional tuition applies.
8. Improv Class
(Select cities Only)
Explore creativity, musicality, confidence, and movement through guided improvisation led by Symposium faculty.
This class helps prepare dancers for Symposium Talent’s Superstar Challenge held during competition season.
9. Showcase
The Showcase concludes the convention and gives dancers an opportunity to demonstrate what they’ve learned throughout the day. The showcase is open to the public and free of charge to come watch.
10. Observers
Observer wristbands are available for family members and guests.
• Observer Fee: $35• Children 5 & under are free.
• One discounted Mini Observer wristband is provided for each registered Mini dancer (for mini room only).
Observers:
• Must wear their wristband at all times.
• Must remain with a registered dancer.
• May observe classes only from designated areas.
• Must remain quiet during classes.
• May not photograph or record classes.
• Do not have access to the Teacher Room.
Observer admission is limited based on available space and may not guarantee seating.
11. Photography & Video
Photography and video recording are not permitted during convention classes.
Professional photography and videography may be provided by Symposium Talent.
12. Schedule
A tentative schedule will be emailed approximately one week before the event.
Schedules are subject to change based on attendance and event needs.
13. Safety
Studio owners are responsible for supervising their dancers throughout the event.
Dancers under the age of 14 must be accompanied by a responsible adult unless prior arrangements have been approved by Symposium Talent.
If first aid is needed, please notify a Symposium staff member immediately.
14. Liability
Participation is at your own risk.
Symposium Talent, the host venue, and affiliated staff are not responsible for injuries, accidents, or lost, stolen, or damaged property.
Legal & Participation Agreement
By submitting a registration, the studio owner (or authorized representative) acknowledges that they have read, understand, and agree to abide by all Symposium Talent Intensive policies. The studio owner accepts responsibility for ensuring that all dancers, teachers, parents, observers, and guests associated with their studio comply with these policies.
Participation in Symposium Talent Intensives is voluntary. The studio owner assumes responsibility for all participants registered under their account and acknowledges that participation is at their own risk. Symposium Talent, its employees, faculty, contractors, host venues, and affiliates shall not be held liable for any injury, illness, accident, loss, theft, or damage to persons or property occurring before, during, or after the event.
The studio owner further agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Symposium Talent, its owners, employees, faculty, contractors, host venues, and affiliates from any claims, damages, liabilities, costs, or expenses arising from participation in the event to the fullest extent permitted by law.
These Rules & Policies shall be governed by the laws of the State of Missouri. Any legal action or proceeding arising out of participation in a Symposium Talent event shall be filed exclusively in a state or federal court located in Jackson County, Missouri, and the parties’ consent to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of those courts.
Symposium Talent reserves the right to interpret, modify, or enforce these policies as necessary to ensure the safe, fair, and successful operation of its events. All decisions made by Symposium Talent are final.
